Corrections
VERA calculates its building grades from public records. These include HPD housing violations and complaints, DOB building records, and 311 heat and hot-water complaints. It also uses bedbug filings under Local Law 69 and HPD building litigation records. Each issue shown with a grade links to its source.
If you own or manage a graded building
If a city record is wrong, ask HPD or DOB to correct it. This might involve a cleared violation, a resolved complaint, or a current registration. Once the agency publishes its update, a later VERA check can read the new record.

Little Fight reviews how VERA matched and read the public record. We fix confirmed mistakes in that process. If the agency record itself is wrong, that agency must correct it before VERA can show an update.
What VERA will not do
VERA never contacts owners, never solicits, and never removes accurate public records from view. No one edits a grade by hand. VERA calculates it again after a record is matched or read correctly, or after the source record changes. A payment, relationship, or request cannot change a grade.
Fair housing
VERA scores buildings and listings from public records and listing data only. It never uses race, religion, national origin, familial status, disability, source of income, or any protected characteristic in scoring or curation. Neighborhood focus reflects the active search brief — not a judgment about who should live anywhere.
